FAQs about Panama City Beach Jet Ski Rentals

What's the difference between a jet ski and waverunner?

Really nothing. Think: Ford, Chevy, Chrysler. They all have the same functions, just look a little different. We refer to one or all throughout this website, and we are always talking about the 3 seater personal watercraft.

How fast will your Panama City Jet Skis go?

Ahh, the most asked question of all! It really depends on the water condition, the total weight onboard, and if you are traveling "down-stream". People on vacation often report getting our Panama City jet skis up to 55 miles per hour, and on the water - that's fast! You don't have to go fast of course, but if you want to, drive with the waves, by yourself, and you should be going pretty fast!

Are the prices of your Jet Ski rentals in Panama City Beach per person?

No, not at all! The prices listed are for the jet ski driver and up to two additional persons depending on their size and the total combined weight.

Can we take the jet skis anywhere we want in Panama City?

This is the second most-asked-question of all. We require that you stay within visible sight (parents, take heart) so we can best assist you if needed. If you are renting the waverunners (jet skis) at our Panama City marina, you'll get to go close to Shell Island. If you're Riding behind a Panama City Beach hotel, you won't get to see Shell Island, but you'll be driving up and down the coast! Either way - keep your eyes open because you may see blue dolphins and sea turtles.

Does the instructions time count as part of my driving time?

No way! Your Panama City Jet Ski adventure does not begin until you're heading out for the waters! By the time you get back, we promise you'll agree that of all the many things to do in Panama City Beach, Jet Ski rentals are one of the most fun attractions!

What is the minimum age to rent a Jet Ski in Panama City Beach, Florida?

Although 14 year olds with parental consent may operate Jet Skis, you must be 18 years of age to actually rent Jet Skis in Panama City. All operators must present a valid photo ID, and must complete a Boater Safety course (see next FAQ). If you do not have a driver’s license or other photo ID, we suggest you obtain a state ID card from your local Department of Motor Vehicles prior to your vacation.

Where do I go to take the Boater Safety course?

The Boater Safety course can be completed at our Panama City marina, located on Thomas Drive, or at any of our Jet Ski rental booths conveniently located on the beach behind Panama City Beach hotels and motels. It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete the course, and there is a $3 fee for issuing a Boater Safety ID card. If you prefer, you may take the course online at www.boatus.org.

STATE OF FLORIDA REGULATIONS:

Anyone under the age of 22 who drives Panama City Jet Ski rentals, must have a picture I.D. in his or her possession AND a boater safety certificate, issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. At our Panama City marina, we offer a temporary Boater Safety certificate that is good for an entire year, for only $3. If you would like to get a permanent card before you come to town, you can get one online at www.boatus.org. Please call us if you have any questions, (850) 235- 0009.
